Mm, this is Heathen Hippie speaking [Deep breath] [Sigh]. Thank you for joining me for an exclusive interview with the creators of @raysocean on OnlyFans, Fée and Ray. They are so amazing! Please give them all the love that they deserve by following their pages! The link to their content is connected to this interview, as well as their Twitter handles. You can see content teasers at @raysocean and @viewsfromrayxx on Twitter.

This interview is to highlight that sex workers have voices. We have thoughts and opinions. We do this job for the same reason that anyone else chooses their industry. We can capitalize on something that makes us, and the people we interact with, feel good. Please listen to our voices instead of the voices that shame us. Moral judgement for a service like sex work by naming it prostitution or sex trafficking normalizes violence and human right violations toward us. When in reality, we are often providing consensual, sexual gratification and it's of our own volition. We love consent! That's what we live for! Consent is pleasure. Please check out a cute little video concerning consent, also linked in the episode

When our work is seen as less than compared to other industries it makes people feel like they have a right to disrespect us, a right to rob us, to rape us, to murder and assault us. It stigmatizes and it criminalizes us. Our labor is equal to yours. We work hard for our trade.

The Sex Workers Speak Out Project features individual voices in addition to ours like Ceyenne Doroshow, Kayla and Casey. Doroshow is the founder of GLITS Inc., an organization which stands for Gays and Lesbians in a Transgender Society and provides safe, empowering spaces for queer individuals. Doroshow is a sex worker based in the United States, as are Kayla, and Casey. Y’all are awesome for sharing your experiences! Thank y’all for advocating that all sex work is decent work!

Sex work has a higher rate of violence than most other industries. Being traumatized should not be an occupational hazard. When we recognize that sex work is skilled labor, it allows for regulation in the industry. It allows for more consensual experiences with clients and less harassment from those around us both directly and indirectly. Normalizing that all sex work is skilled, is decent, and is worthy means that we are able to report crimes to the police, put our full work history on our resume, and remain safe in our homes. Our bodies are ours to make decisions for, and we are brave enough to be vulnerable for the industry that we love. Please support sex workers, don’t put us down. Let us choose otherwise you are a part of the problem. We are not immoral; we are sex-positive. Just because you don’t approve, does not mean people will stop having sex. Most of us like to fuck!

Fée 3:57
Hi, my name is Fée. I'm a sex worker- and, oh my god [Giggle]- my Twitter and OnlyFans is raysocean.

Ray 4:14
My name is Ray. I'm a content creator You can see more of my content @viewsfromrayxx on Twitter.

Tiffany 4:25
Yes, yes! Thank you guys so much. Yes, thank you guys so much, seriously.

Ray 4:30
Thank you for having us.

Tiffany 4:31
Yes! Podcast! Okay, so I guess, you know, we'll start with how you guys got started with sex work, and then you know go into: your thoughts on sex work in general, you know what you feel like your  opportunities and you know like strengths are in like producing content, and what you feel like are some of like the struggles  of creating content and producing you know erotic content like when porn is so vilified all the time. [Giggle] Yeah.

Fée 5:24
So we started, oh sorry.

Tiffany 5:29
Oh my gosh, no you're fine.

Fée 5:30
So we started maybe like a year ago. It was about a year ago-

Ray 5:33

Fée 5:34
T
his month. We kinda just like talked about it, so we already like recorded videos and everything, but like we realized that with like the rise of like OnlyFans and everything like we could make money off of stuff that we already do so. We were like," Why not?" Like I mean it was kinda like a, it was definitely a mutual thing. We just like mentioned it.

Ray 6:03
Yeah, I would say like  sex work is always some that we both wanted to do. Maybe, maybe not specifically OnlyFans, but like something related to sex work. Of course you know everybody, they made they videos and whatnot , so with that being something that both of us had an interest in, it was kinda just like," Hey we both enjoy doing this. We both look good doing it. Why not make some extra money doing it?" Like and, people like to see it, so of course you know give people what they like to see.

Fée 6:38
Yeah, your answer was better than mine. That's a, that's a good interview.

Tiffany 6:42
No, no! Both answers were so good.

Fée 6:45
[Giggles]

Tiffany 6:46
I'll definitely, I'm gonna use both of them I promise. No, no, it's okay! I promise. Yeah here wait. Lemme, lemme go, lemme go, lemme go get, lemme go get the weed. Lemme go get the rest of the Hawaii weed.

Ray 7:00
Yeah. [Chuckle]

Tiffany 7:01
And let's, let's roll up.

Fée 7:02
I'm nervous.

Ray 7:04
Hey, it's okay.

Tiffany 7:04
Yes let's do this! Let's roll up! So like when do you guys feel like you know like the OnlyFans really took off?

Ray 7:14
[Chuckle] Right away.

Fée 7:15
Yeah! [Giggles]

Ray 7:16
It started taking off right away. She is very beautiful.

Fée 7:18
[Giggles]

Ray 7:19
And so, obviously like-

Fée 7:20
Thank you.

Ray 7:20
There were people lining up to get ready, to like to see what's up. So, it took off pretty quickly.

Fée 7:27
Which is like really crazy, 'cause like I didn't really know what to expect. And like you see people making like a lot of money. And like we weren't making like, we're not making like a bunch , a bunch, but like you see people like making money like top "this" percent, and like the fact that it happened like so quickly was like really like surprising. Like, I don't know.

Tiffany 7:53
Proud of you guys!

Ray 7:54
[Chuckle]

Tiffany 7:55
No, yeah! I don't think it's surprising at all!

Fée 7:59
Oh!

Tiffany 8:01
I don't think it's surprising at all. These are both beautiful people.

Fée 8:04
[Giggles]

Ray 8:04
Thank you.

Tiffany 8:05
Please go on their content! What kind of like, what are your custom , what are your client interactions like?

Fée 8:14
I don't know. I have to teach people how to talk to me. Like, for some reason like I don't know. So like, I don't know, but people. We have like, oh, I have like, a few like consistent content buyers. Like they'll buy pictures, of me and like special requests and stuff like that, but they're like, they're cool. Nobody's like weird or anything, and I'm happy about that.

Tiffany 8:45
Yeah, no kink-shaming, but we like consensual stuff for sure.

Fée 8:46
Yeah.

Tiffany 8:47
You know?

Fée 8:48
Yeah, oh definitely.

Tiffany 8:48
I remember at one point I had to stop selling pictures of my feet, because there was a guy who compared my feet to his child's.

Fée 8:56
Uh.

Ray 8:56
Oh my god.

Tiffany 8:57
Yeah, and I was like," Uh, uh, no." Like-

Ray 9:01
[Chuckle]

Fée 9:02
Yeah.

Tiffany 9:03
I'm glad my feet are cute, but they don't need to be that cute. [Laughs]

Fée 9:05
Exactly. Yeah I was about to go grab it.

Tiffany 9:07
Do you ever, do you ever end up selling like specific fetish requests?

Fée 9:12
Not like, specific. I mean like some people ask for like," I want heels and like stockings." Like, but not like anything like, like I haven't sold any feet pictures, or like anything else. It's just basically just like nudes, regular nudes.

Tiffany 9:28
Yes, and what about you Ray?

Ray 9:31
I get, I don't too many. I just get like, you say like regular masturbation videos. That's pretty much the, the extent of it.  People say, there are certain people that where it's certain, yeah, there's certain people like kinda weird about things. Like-

Fée 9:56
Yeah.

Ray 9:57
I get a bunch of like, you would call it harassment. I get a bunch of like harassing messages, just all kinda stuff, but I don't know. [Chuckle]

Fée 10:07
Which is like, really like wild. 'Cause you would think, like me as a woman, I would get people like harassing me. People like try to talk to me and whatever, but like people are like constantly, actually harassing him! Like-

Ray 10:24
[Chuckle]

Tiffany 10:25
Why?

Fée 10:26
It's weird. Like, they like, I guess they like they think it's like a good thing. Like a compliment, but like," Leave me alone."

Ray 10:34
Yeah, you get about like, you know, a lot of times women like you know, guys in their DMs blowing 'em up, and sending them random stuff like unsolicited pictures and stuff, but like I don't think people talk, like I don't think a lot of people talk about like, if it happens to guys. I don't know if it happens a lot. It happens a lot with me for some reason. [Chuckle]

Tiffany 10:56
Yeah, no, it's because you guys are hot! Like, yeah. And I definitely you're not alone with that. There are, I definitely know guys who have similar problems. I'm sorry to hear it. Well so, how do you guys set boundaries with your clients?

Ray 11:15
If it's usually something out-of-pocket then there's usually no response. Only reply on here, only talk to me on here. If you can't do that then-

Fée 11:23
Block! And then there's an unblock fee.

Tiffany 11:26
Oh! Smart!

Fée 11:28
And so like, you need to like act right. Like. [Giggle]

Tiffany 11:36
Yeah.

Ray 11:40
Lemme note typically like we have, when they or, when they ask us like what do we do, like what our prices are and stuff, we already have like, we tell them up front, so like it's not using too many, too many bothers, but.

Fée 11:55
Oh, like me personally like "Can you meet up?" I specifically said no meetups. Like we don't meet up, like and they're like, "Oo, but can I take you out to dinner?" Or like, "Can I take you out?" Like-

Tiffany 12:11
Nah, like that's, it's no longer safe at that point.

Fée 12:12
Yeah.

Tiffany 12:13
And you know, safety is so important when you're putting yourself in a vulnerable position.

Fée 12:20
Right.

Tiffany 12:21
And you know, people have to be respectful of that. That, you know, they are not your, you know, like your best friend at that point. Like-

Ray 12:31
These are strangers essentially. [Chuckle]

Tiffany 12:40
Yeah.

Fée 12:40

Yeah.

Tiffany 12:41
Yeah, exactly. Well, so, how do you, how do you feel like sex work has affected y'all's relationship? I know that y'all are, are partners for our listeners- just to clarify.

Ray 12:55
So, I think with doing sex work together we've gone a lot, we've learned a lot about each other, like what we tolerate and what we don't tolerate. And I don't know, I think it, all around we've been, well we've been happy, but the sex work kinda adds like some more excitement to it 'cause it's like," Well we can do this. We can do that. We can show people this. We can show people that." [Chuckle]

Tiffany 13:24
Yeah. It gives you an opportunity to collaborate creatively together.

Fée 13:25
Yeah, and people enjoy it. Like, that's like one of the best feelings about it too. Like, people wanna see this stuff and it's like-

Tiffany 13:40
We love love!

Fée 13:43
Yes!

Tiffany 13:44
Well good! I'm so glad to hear it. How long have y'all been together? I know you said you've been doing, you've been creating content for about a year.

Fée 13:50
Okay so, we [Laughs] we, how long have we? We started dating  last March. We've known each other for about 6-

Ray 14:05
Well before that like 5-

Fée 14:05
Oh yeah.

Ray 14:06
So, about 7, We've known each other about 7 years. We used to work together.

Fée 14:09
[Giggle] In high school. [Giggle] Well, we've been dating like, we've been dating about a year and some change.

Ray 14:21
Since, since May.

Fée 14:23
May? Yeah it was, it was last March. [Giggles]

Tiffany 14:25
[Giggles] Yeah! Aw, that's awesome! That's awesome. I'm really happy for you guys. What are some of your concerns and hesitations when it comes to creating content and, and being sex workers?

Fée 14:45
I feel like initially like, it was people like finding out, but like not really anymore because like it's something like we take pride in. I dunno, like I do. I don't wanna speak for both of us, but like it's something that we really take pride in. And so that, that was initially like the the most like, the biggest concern. Really, the only concern 'cause like we're doing stuff we like.

Ray 15:15
Yeah, I think like probably the biggest concern was people finding out, but after you kinda get like 100,000 plus views and whatnot on Twitter you're like "Oh! I'm sure they. They're probably in that 100,000," so you know what I mean?

Tiffany 15:30
Someone changed my diapers they've seen my ass already you know?

Fée 15:31
Yeah, like- [Laughs]

Tiffany 15:35
[Laughs] Do you, have you had like any trouble with like, restrictions or regulations on sex work, or any issues with privacy?

Fée 15:43
I mean, I've had like people like tell my mom on me, and like tell my grandma. Like, but nothing like, nothing like major like when your grandmother knows like, what? What else? I don't know, what else is there to be?

Tiffany 16:00
Yeah. What about your family Ray?

Ray 16:05
[Chuckle] I don't, I don't know. They are, they don't know as far as I know. And, I don't, I don't make it a point to keep it from 'em. It's just like, hey if they find out one day that'd be an interesting conversation.

Tiffany 16:20
[Laughs] Exactly

Ray 16:25
But, until then-

Tiffany 16:29
You'll let them bring it up. [Giggle]

Ray 16:30
Yeah, I ain't got no reason to bring it up.

Tiffany 16:31
Yeah.

Ray 16:31
We're all adults here.

Fée 16:32
Like, we're literally adults. [Giggle]

Tiffany 16:35
Yeah I know. It's tough living in a conservative-leaning country at the moment. Not a lot of opportunities for regulation in sex work. Which I feel like personally is, you know a big struggle because even though it's so powerful you know, and so empowering personally, it doesn't, it doesn't always feel the safest.

Fée 17:05
Yeah. Definitely, definitely, especially like just starting to work as a dancer, like I was nervous! Like," Who's gonna see me? Who's gonna be weird?" like, you know like I enjoy this and you know this is something that I like doing, but there's like  a risk. There's a risk, but like  getting over that, and like especially like with the club having like safety guidelines that definitely helps me feel better. But like-

Tiffany 17:40
Could you tell the listeners a little bit about the safety guidelines that you do appreciate about the club the you've been, or the club that you're working at?

Fée 17:45
Okay! Yes! So one of 'em, so like for example if we're in the VIP section-probably shouldn't say this. Nah probably shouldn't say this. [Laughs]

Tiffany 18:00
I can cut it. I can cut it. If you change your mind.

Ray 18:00
Yeah you probably shouldn't.

Fée 18:04
Yeah.

Tiffany 18:05
Here, I'm gonna, I'll pause it.

Here Fée describes some of the secret safety measures used to keep sex workers safe at the club she dances at. We’re gonna keep that confidential for everyone. But lemme tell you it’s pretty cool and smart and helps her get home safely which I love!

Yeah definitely wanna keep codes safe, but-

Fée 18:33
Yeah, but like we can't leave with security. Like, security has to like escort us to our cars at night, in the daytime. Like, even at my audition security escorted me back to my car, so like I really appreciate that.

Tiffany 18:54
That's awesome. What is y'all's goal and dream for you know, like the content you create? Is it just to continue on, you know, enjoying yourselves and experimenting? Do you guys have a vision in mind?

Ray 19:10
To just keep getting better and better! Keep making, keep seeing what works. Keep seeing what we can do better. Most importantly just having fun and giving people what they wanna see.

Tiffany 19:20
And, I guess, what are your hopes you know for sex work regulation and like legislation in the future? I know Fée is big into advocacy work and helping the community around her. So glad to see that the community is growing and we're sticking together!

Fée 19:42
Oh yeah, looking at like everything that's like in the news regarding sex work and the legalization like- I just hope we get to do what we wanna do, like you know we're not hurting anybody. Like, I hope we keep getting to do what we've been doing and as far as like- [Giggle]

Ray 20:03
Yeah, people should be, you know, it's a requested thing. You know cause I enjoy doing it. It's not like, I mean I guess you could be, but we're not like doing sex work for no reason. Like, it's stuff people wanna see. You can't slut shame and put down sex workers and at the same time continue to watch porn and like, it just doesn't make sense. So like hopefully like people just, people who don't do sex work, just realize we all people, we don't have to be talked about. We're giving people pleasure.

Tiffany 20:35
Yeah, exactly. Stop shaming voyeurism! We all like porn, let's make it consensual.

Fée 20:40
Exactly!

Tiffany 20:45
Because with the regulation of sex work it's so important that, you know, it will affect sex trafficking.

Fée 20:50
Yeah.

Tiffany 20:51
You know, and the dissemination of videos and erotic photos that are taken
non-consensually on those, in those instances.

Ray 21:05
Could you wait-

Fée 21:06
Yeah, no, like-

Tiffany 21:07
Yeah, it's okay. It doesn't matter, rotation. It's not in the spirit of the 420 gods to care about rotation.

Fée 21:13
[Laughs]

Ray 21:13
[Laughs] I like that.

Tiffany 21:15
Clearly. Yeah they're just all about giving.

Fée 21:19
But, no I took a, I'm not like in support of it. I feel like I can't say like this is right, this is wrong, but like there is a lot of trafficking going on in  like in that lifestyle. So like with the legalize of it, like I don't know.

Tiffany 21:38
It would allow escorts to be their own entrepreneur, like be their own boss and  do it in a safer way that has records of clients, and has you know records of assaults, or boundaries being pushed and other non-consensual encounters where now, you know it's not discussed at all really.

Fée 22:10
I'm just nervous about the like traffickers, you know like the pimps or whatnot. Now it will be like legal for them to do business and to have these companies that like tax women for their bodies, like-

Tiffany 22:25
Yeah. Exactly

Fée 22:25
That's like the only thing that like, was like-

Tiffany 22:30
It's a double-edged sword.

Fée 22:30
Yeah! Yeah, so like yes [Clap] legalize it, but I'm like there are other-

Tiffany 22:35
Regulate it.

Fée 22:36
Yeah! Exactly like, if it's legalized like it needs to be regulated. But at the same time like, regulating women's bodies like, it's just like, oh my goodness! Like, I don't know!

Tiffany 22:45
Yeah! Like can you, can you win truly?

Fée 22:50
Right?

Tiffany 22:53
I feel like it shouldn't necessarily be about regulating somebody's body, but about harm prevention.

Fée 23:00
Right! Right that should be-

Tiffany 23:02
It should be about, you know every sex worker has like a right to privacy.

Fée 23:10
Exactly!

Tiffany 23:11
A right to consent, you know, and I feel like it's the small nuances that will make the big difference in the legislation if it's legalized in the United States.

Fée 23:25
Right.

Tiffany 23:26
Well, we definitely want to legalize one thing and it's green and it grows from the ground, so please call your senators about that. They do keep track of it. They do keep track of what you call about.

Fée 23:25
Interesting. They don't do anything about it.

Tiffany 23:40
Yeah! Yeah! Listen to us senators!

Fée 23:41
[Giggles]

Tiffany 23:45
Yes! And vote the way we're asking you to!

Fée 23:44
We're calling and you know this, like-

Tiffany 23:50
One more time would you please tell us your handle?

Fée 23:55
Raysocean, oh I'm raysocean on Twitter and we're raysocean on OnlyFans.

Ray 24:00
And I'm viewsfromrayxx on Twitter and raysocean on OnlyFans.

Tiffany 24:08
